So much so of what's happening around us, we encourage ourselves to be strong but when something bad happens, we give up or feel bad about ourselves or about the situation. I believe this is the extended time when we don't just need to be strong but be resilient as well. Resilient in a way where no matter how many times we experienced bad things, been stretched financially, pressed emotionally or bent relationally, we will always turn back to our original state of being strong. This time, not just strong physically but also mentally, spiritually and socially.
The Lord said in Revelation 3:10, "Because you have kept my word about patient endurance, I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth."
The word endurance here means the characteristic of a man who is not swerved from his deliberate purpose and his loyalty to faith and piety by even the greatest trials and sufferings. Let us persevere in being strong and resilient for the Lord will surely sustain us on every trial that is happening now and is to come.
Additionally, insights I learned during webinar about “managing stress in times of crisis” by Dr. Tito Almadin, let our response during this time of crisis be resiliency. These stressful times does not define who we are but are only trials of how long we are willing to fight a good fight of faith. Together, may we reframe stressful situations by building resilience.
